AI, Data & Privacy
Strong - all data stays on the device
This robot processes and stores all data locally on the device itself. No personal data leaves the hardware, which provides the strongest level of data protection for EU residents under GDPR. There is no cross-border data transfer risk.
How to keep it private
XPENG established the "Fourth Law of Robotics" stating that privacy data does not leave the robot. Three Turing AI chips (3,000 TOPS combined) enable real-time processing of visual data, natural language, and motor control without cloud connectivity. Large vision-language models run locally on-device.
Available privacy controls
XPENG policy that privacy data does not leave the robot, extending Asimov's Three Laws with a privacy-first principle
All AI inference runs on three Turing chips (3,000 TOPS) locally, avoiding cloud data transmission
Synthetic skin sensor data processed entirely on-device
XPENG Iron has one of the strongest stated privacy commitments among humanoid robots with its Fourth Law ensuring data stays on the robot. The 3,000 TOPS of local AI compute makes this technically feasible. However, XPENG Iron is not yet in mass production (planned for late 2026), so these privacy claims have not been independently verified at scale. Monitor XPENG privacy policy updates as the product approaches commercial availability. As a Chinese manufacturer, data practices may also be subject to Chinese data regulations.
What this means for EU residents
XPENG established the "Fourth Law of Robotics" stating that privacy data does not leave the robot. All processing designed to stay on-device via 3,000 TOPS of AI compute.
